The London Handel Players bring together some of the finest specialist players of the music of Handel and his contemporaries. Since making their debut at Handel’s parish church, St. George’s Hanover Square in London, as part of the London Handel Festival 2000, they have thrilled audiences across the world with their performances and recordings. The Players are directed from the violin by Adrian Butterfield, with the harpsichordist Laurence Cummings – two of the directors of the London Handel Festival, a vital part of London’s musical scene since 1978. The London Handel Players are the principals of the London Handel Orchestra which accompanies the major performances of Handel operas and oratorios during the Festival, and which has performed throughout the UK and abroad, including the Oslo Church Music Festival in Norway.
